Assets (Verified Carbon Units - VCUs)

This API integration focuses exclusively on Verified Carbon Units (VCUs).
A VCU represents one metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e) whose avoidance/reduction or removal has been verified according to Tero Carbon's approved methodologies and validated by an independent third party.
Key characteristics:
Purpose: Intended for commercialization as a carbon credit to offset greenhouse gas emissions.
Verification: Undergoes rigorous verification processes.
Registry: Tracked on the Tero Carbon registry and tokenized on the Polygon blockchain.
API Scope: All API functions (getUnitsData, postTransfer, postRetirement, etc.) operate on VCUs.
Important: Verified Carbon Stock Units (VCSUs) are not part of this API integration and cannot be listed, transferred, or retired using these endpoints.
